Statement from Norman Siegel In Honor of Marilyn Clement, 1935 - 2009.

Marilyn Clement was a real, true American heroine. Starting with her work with Dr. Martin Luther King at the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, Marilyn was a valiant fighter for civil rights, civil liberties, as well as economic and social justice. I came to know and admire Marilyn in her role as the Executive Director of the Center for Constitutional Rights, where she distinguished herself as a tireless champion of our founders’ vision of a ‘government for and by the people’.

It is now essential to ensure that our message reaches the greatest audience possible, targeting primary voters through the use of TV, radio ads and direct mail. This aspect of the campaign is costly, and to be effective we need to raise additional funds now. I need your help.

Norman on The Huffington Post: "Yes to the Office of Public Advocate"

    From today's The Huffington Post.

Two decades ago, an amendment to the New York City Charter created the Office of Public Advocate, a unique position with the power and authority to protect and enhance the rights of all residents of this great city and, most importantly, to hold government accountable for its actions. There is not another office in the country with these unique and important powers.
