Next For Norman: DFA Endorsement & Upcoming Events

Our campaign is in high gear! New endorsements, petitioning, and lots of upcoming events.

Endorsements keep coming in! Today, Norman was endorsed by Howard Dean's Democracy For America, a national grassroots progressive organization. Their endorsement said, "Norman Siegel's career is built on standing up for the rights of all of us. As the Executive Director of the New York Civil Liberties Union, and for the past eight years in private civil liberties practice, he was at the frontline of some of the city's most critical struggles." Norman was also endorsed by the New York Community Council, an organization made up of activists from around the City.

We still need your help to get Norman on the ballot in September! Norman needs to collect signatures from New Yorkers throughout the city, and he needs your help to do it. In only a few hours on an evening or weekend, you can help Norman make a difference for all New Yorkers.

If you haven't signed up for petitioning, please email us at info@normansiegel.com and let us know when you are available.

Norman Meets with Advocates and Activists on Cinco De Mayo

From supporter Madison Calvert:

Leslie Pomerantz hosted a wonderful Cinco De Mayo gathering for Norman and his supporters at her Upper West Side home on Tuesday, May 5, 2009. Complete with a mariachi band and lively conversation, the evening proved to be a great setting for new supporters and old to meet with Norman and discuss the steps ahead on the road to becoming the Public Advocate. Norman encouraged everyone in attendance, including constituents from the West 76th st. block association and family members who lost loved ones in 9/11, to continue fighting for their causes and he pledged his continued support to them. “Everyone in this room tonight is an activist or advocate.” Norman said. “When I am elected as the next public advocate, I plan to call on all of you to continue your fights for the people of New York City.” Norman’s remarks were met with a standing ovation indicative of the support for those working to bring change and honesty back to politics.
