The Right To Vote: A Fundamental Right

The right to vote is fundamental. Men and women have protested, marched, been beaten and even jailed to achieve this crucial right. Regrettably, a few have died to secure the right to vote for themselves and others.

Michael Schwerner, James Cheney, Andrew Goodman, Medgar Evers, Viola Gregg Liuzzo, Jimmie Lee Jackson, James Rebb, Herbert Lee, Jonathan Daniels, Vernon Dahmer and Samuel Younge, Jr. are American heroes who were killed as they pursued the all important right to vote during our Southern Civil Rights Movement in the 1960’s We should never forget them.
